Modern folk tales and rootsy genre-bending anthems, Joe Bass offers an adventurous spin on alternative-folk music. Based out of Toronto and Kitchener, the trio combines mandolin, guitar, and bass banjo with thoughtfully arranged harmonies. The result is a sound that's fully coloured for an instrumentation that's stripped down. Their lighthearted stage show and tight-knitted musicianship make performances equal parts unhinged dance party, camaraderie-inducing group hug, and immersive listening experience. The 3-piece has performed across Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and P.E.I., including appearances at Canadian Music Week and Fredericton's Living Roots Festival. Over the past year, they've released the first singles off of their sophomore EP Part Timer, while earning a placement on Sportsnet's 31 Thoughts Podcast.
